Third project by SHADO for La Biennale di Venezia: for the 61st International Art Exhibition – In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh, our media company, together with Cisco, developed an AI-powered generative sound system that turns music, movement, and thoughts written by the audience into words and sounds that change in real time, always in a different way.

Designed by set designer Paolo Fantin, the installation “Echo/SommersiVo” takes visitors on a gradual descent from the surface to the depths, from light into darkness. Along the way, sculptural fragments of a piano appear, leading to the complete instrument playing SommersiVo, the piece composed and performed by Dardust.“Oltre Echo,” a Short DocumentaryThe installation brings together artistic sensibility, technological expertise, and the emotions shared by the audience: the documentary tells the story of that process and premiered on September 10, 2026 at the Venice Film Festival. It was also screened on September 24 on our campus.

The installation is part of Persistent Notes, a project curated by Giovanna Zabotti with Denis Isaia and Cesare Biasini Selvaggi for the Venice Pavilion, inviting visitors to discover Venice through sounds, memories, and invisible traces.It’s open throughout the Biennale Arte, from May 9 to November 22, 2026.
