Green & Digital Transition at the H-FARM Campus | H-FARM

The P(H)ED-FARM project, coordinated by JAKALA Civitas and funded by the European Commission, aims to make our Campus more sustainable and energy self-sufficient.

Twin Transition: Combining Environmental and Digital TransformationP(H)ED-FARM is a sustainable development project coordinated by JAKALA Civitas, with the support of the Municipality of Roncade (Treviso), as part of the European initiative Scalable Cities. The goal is to transform our Campus and its surrounding area into a Positive (Human) Energy District, a self-sufficient zone that generates more renewable energy than it consumes. Positive Energy Districts are a cornerstone of Europe’s vision for decarbonization by 2050, inspired by the principles of the New European Bauhaus: beauty, sustainability, and inclusivity.Students and Professionals Collaborating for SustainabilityThe project kicked off in July 2024 and continued in November 2024 with a design thinking workshop that brought together over 60 participants, including professionals, researchers, and university students, to promote sustainable practices on Campus.Meanwhile, we are completing the energy analysis of all our buildings and digital devices to optimize the use of renewable resources. The project will conclude with an event open to all on February 19, 2025, where we will present the project results and share best practices in urban sustainability and smart cities for the local area. The event is sponsored by ASSURB, the Italian Association of Urban Planners and Territorial and Environmental Planners.Join the event on Feb. 19 The project is supported by the European Union.
