We are looking for ready-to-market solutions linked to the areas of prevention, accessibility, treatment and innovation.

Global investments in digital health – the use of digital hardware and software technologies in the health and welfare sectors – have grown steadily; they reached €6.1 billion in 2016 and are expected to increase by 22% within 2022, with peaks of 34% in the mobile healthcare sector. In Italy, it is estimated that health spending will exceed €118 billion (DEF 2017) by 2020, and about 1.5% is now earmarked for eHealth.

Anticipating this trend in order to consolidate long-term leadership in this market, Generali Italia and us have decided to launch the Generali Health & Welfare Accelerator program. The aim is to identify and collaborate with innovative domestic and international startups in their early/middle stages that are developing solutions for the market and who are exploiting emerging technologies and exploring new business models linked to the areas of prevention, accessibility, treatment and innovation.

The digitalization process of the health and welfare sectors is not limited to process management, but also encompasses all digital solutions that are directly related to clinical, preventive and first aid activity, as well as care access: remote diagnosis applications that allow faster access to care, solutions that improve patient and patient interaction, online health education resources, employee health control tools, stress control and burnout prevention. According to research, about 70% of global healthcare organizations intend to invest in mobile and wearable applications that collect remote data on serious illnesses and initiate prevention activities.

All applications to the program must be submitted here by October 31. The 5 best startup candidates will take part in a 4-month acceleration course on our Campus. During this period, they will be able to develop their project, benefitting from mentoring and tutoring activities, a work space, food and lodging, as well as €10,000 in seed founding. Generali Italia will guarantee the selected startups a range of services designed to quickly consolidate their business models and that will simplify their entrance into the market of their specific field through individual workshops and meetings.
