Artificial technologies, human values: responsible AI is not just about protecting data; it’s about building trustworthy solutions based on human-centered ethics. In 2021, the world produced 79 zettabytes of data. A zettabyte is a trillion gigabytes—that's enough storage for 60 billion video games. 🎮 Source: Statista's Volume of data/information created, captured, copied, and consumed worldwide from 2010 to 2020, with forecasts from 2021 to 2025. Our lives, businesses, and economies depend on data, and AI is helping organizations use data to address significant global challenges. But lack of trust in AI systems is a growing barrier to adoption. Some key principles to achieve responsible AI are transparency  fairness and bias mitigation accountability privacy and security explainability What are companies and governments doing to achieve responsible AI? In March 2023, Australia Launched the Responsible AI Network, a program to support Australian companies in using and creating AI ethically and safely; in June 2023, PepsiCo, Inc. partnered with the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence to conduct research of ethical AI around key areas such as supply chains, forecasting and smart manufacturing and sustainability; in June 2023, Salesforce Ventures launched $500 million Generative AI fund to foster responsible AI innovation; in July 2023, AI giants Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI founded the Frontier Model Forum, a new industry body focused on ensuring responsible AI practices. Will responsible AI become the only AI possible in the future?
