CLUB Artificial Intelligence January 31, 2024 | H-FARM
The latest AI news and reflections on ethics and anthropology with our experts, professors, and students.
We strongly believe in AI: no other technology, until now, has had the same potential to revolutionize the economy, society, and our lives, creating astounding opportunities and freeing up time and resources.
AI is at the center of one of the CLUB series, our communities of students, professionals, and innovation enthusiasts who share experiences and inspire new projects.
On January 31 we shared the latest innovations and fascinating reflections with:
Diego Pizzocaro, CMO of ForceManager, co-creator of OpenAccessGPT, and lecturer at H-FARM College;
Pierluigi Fasano, lecturer of the AI & Data Science course at H-FARM College, and some of his students;
Filippo Cappiello, Full-Stack Marketer;
Filippo Lubrano, TEDx speaker and tech trainer.

Diego Pizzocaro and the latest developments
Diego is a great AI expert and in November 2023 he was invited to participate in the first OpenAI DevDay in San Francisco. Among the new features he presented:
GPT-4 can "see": after the release of Vision, it can analyze images providing accurate information or suggestions about objects;
ChatGPT's integration with DALL-E 3 enables smoother and more natural interaction between the user and the system and has more powerful image generation capabilities;
🚨 beware of security: GPTs can reveal their "secrets"! Some experts managed to get themselves to share the creation instructions and files used to customize GPTs;
Microsoft launched Copilot Pro, its AI service for the business world, with advanced features such as direct access to the latest and most powerful OpenAI models, including GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, and DALL•E 3;
extremely interesting and powerful software was released, such as:
ElevenLabs' Dubbing Studio translates videos into 29 languages, giving direct control over transcriptions, translations, timing and more - Eleven Labs just raised $80 million and achieved unicorn status 🦄
Wondercraft Audio Studio creates the highest quality audio and translates it for podcasts, audiobooks, commercials, and various communications;
HeyGen creates ultra-realistic avatars that interact with the streaming user;
Runway's Multi Motion Brush completely revolutionizes creative possibilities, creating video from images or text input:
new research seems to suggest that chatbots such as Bard and ChatGPT can understand text;
the University of Chicago has released Nightshade, a free software that protects works of art by subtly altering images so that Large Language Models see something completely different from reality;
Arc Search is a new browser that creates ad hoc pages with information and media content using AI;
Mark Zuckerberg announced that his goal is to create an Artificial General Intelligence, a kind of artificial intelligence systems that are generally smarter than humans, and make it open source;
OpenAI will collaborate with Arizona State University to use ChatGPT in the classroom (did you know that H-FARM College students use ChatGPT in their math class?);
Rabbit.tech unveiled R1, a new frontier in smart assistants that challenges the dominance of smartphones:
What about here at H-FARM? After the degree programs on AI, here’s the AI-powered school
We have launched My School, a cutting-edge, flexible, and personalized educational pathway that empowers young individuals to learn at their own pace. It caters to those who pursue their passions—be it in sports, the arts, or other competitive disciplines—and supports students with special needs who cannot attend traditional schools. Through online classes, enriched with AI and other advanced technologies, students can learn wherever and whenever they choose.
We plan to offer scholarships: if you are a company that, like us, want to help more students realize their dreams, get in touch.
At H-FARM College, starting in September 2024, students will have access to 2 cutting-edge, bachelor's degree programs designed to immerse them in the most advanced technologies and dynamic markets: AI & Data Science and Technology Management with Cybersecurity.
We are also offering new opportunities for businesses:
full immersion days to explore the most compelling AI topics for application in the enterprise world;
invite-only presentations and showcases on the potential of spatial computing and Apple Vision Pro for business strategies.

AI for a better world: Pierluigi Fasano
We witness extraordinary applications of AI, particularly in the realm of generative AI. However, the true transformations occur when it facilitates the creation of a better world and brings about significant changes in our lives. For instance, consider an AI-integrated implant that reconstructs neural stimuli, enabling a paraplegic person to walk again, or a paralyzed woman speaking for the first time in nearly 20 years, thanks to an innovative brain implant coupled with a digital avatar.
Interestingly, many of the most impactful innovations originate from teams comprising students and university researchers.
The ethics of AI: our College students' projects
Our students continually challenge themselves with AI experiments and projects, consistently prioritizing the human element. This approach perfectly encapsulates the "human" ethos that has always set us apart.
Three groups of students presented various scenarios and ethical dilemmas they were encouraged to explore in their classes.
Group 1 and 2: Is your life worth more than others?
There are two AI-based hospital models for diagnosing serious diseases. Model 1 has high accuracy for the majority of the population but is less precise for minorities; Model 2 has similar accuracy for both the majority and minority groups.
Is it ethically acceptable to have less precise diagnoses for a portion of the population to improve the overall accuracy of the model?
Group 3: Will AGI surpass human intelligence?
These students envisioned a futuristic scenario set in 2043, where General Artificial Intelligence (AGI) is widespread, including androids with human intelligence and traits. They analyzed the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal characteristics of such a world and its ethical issues.
If AGI were to become a reality, would it mean that humans have been "defeated" or are we moving towards a better world?
AI as a service: Filippo Cappiello
The Full-Stack Marketer explained what GPTs entail and their purpose, offering insights and best practices for individuals interested in developing their own. Additionally, he discussed future opportunities for monetization once the capability to make purchases on the GPT Store becomes available.
Filippo has developed several GPTs himself, among which is one that has attracted over 10,000 users: Gerry, The Logo Designer - for Startup.
AI and anthropology: Filippo Lubrano
In 1726, writer and poet Jonathan Swift wrote, I imagine a writing machine by means of which the most ignorant person, at a reasonable price and with the least physical effort, will be able to write books on philosophy, poetry, politics, jurisprudence, mathematics, and theology, without the help of a luminary or the necessary study.
From the inception of the Mark I Perceptron in 1956, the first machine capable of simulating the functioning of neurons, to the first commercially applied artificial intelligence developed in 1982 by Digital Equipment Corporation, through the Turing test, Filippo traced the milestones in the history of AI and analyzed some of today's most intriguing evolutions, such as the transition from Large Language Models to Large Actionable Models (an example of which is R1 by Rabbit.tech).
It emerges that the recognition and understanding of different cultural and social contexts are critical to the future of both machines and humanity itself.
