On Thursday March 8, we organized with the H for Human Foundation a new open lecture with Giuseppe Delmestri, Full Professor and Chair of the Institute of Change Management & Management Development in the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business.
His lecture will be focused on markets as cultural constructions. Market categories are constituted through webs of meanings, practices and values, also including the status position of the product and the category. Launching/repositioning a product means opening/changing the semantic space within these webs. Starting from the examples of Italian grappa, Australian wine and Austrian vegan garden soil, Delmestri will offer some theoretical and practical considerations on the determinants of status elevation, contestation and (de)stigmatization in contemporary markets.
