We have implemented a new digital retail model in IKEA's first pop up store in Italy dedicated to the kitchen world.
We have supported IKEA in creating a digital buying experience in its 400-square-meter pop up store, inaugurated on April 27, 2017 in Piazza San Silvestro in Rome. Thanks to a state-of-the-art technology, it is possible to simulate your ideal kitchen by combining different elements: you can choose the color and the style of the drawers, doors and shelves, and see them reproduced in real size thanks to screens, touchscreen surfaces and softwares that make the experience extremely interactive.
When a customer browses the items through a website or catalogue, it is not easy to visualize the actual size of the objects. Our Industry team developed a solution capable to overcome this obstacle and also to communicate the width and modularity of IKEA's offer.
The first solution is the Kitchen Flow: it offers an "immersive" experience that allows you to view the 1 to 1 scale kitchen through 15 46-inch screens and a digital totem. The item selected by the customer is played in real size. The second solution is the Magic Drawer, an interactive surface placed inside a drawer: thanks to a 32-inch monitor and an infrared touchscreen overlay, you can view all the solutions and filter them according to the size of the drawer or the type of tableware.
