Our story starts here...
We are born in Ca’ Tron with the goal of fostering the creation of digital projects that make life easier for people and companies. We are the first venture incubator in the world: YC Combinator is born in the US a few months after us. We are 8 people, with big dreams and a historic farm estate. We found H-art and H-care.
The first iPhone is released. A true digital revolution starts and has a positive impact on our sector, too. H-umus and H-Play are born. We are growing fast and we need to expand our headquarters.
We invent the “Storming Pizza”, an informal event format to interview startups, an occasion to exchange views and find in 15 minutes the ideas that want to change the world. Young people and companies get more and more interested in our company. Zooppa, the first platform for crowdsourced content creation, is born.
We land in Seattle, USA, where we put Zooppa’s headquarters. This is the year of our first exit: H-Care is sold to Comdata. Our model works! BigRock, the first training center in computer graphics, moves to Ca’ Tron and becomes a part of our growing ecosystem. 9 startups, 100 people and a new headquarters.
It is the year of the global financial crisis, but also a turning point for us: we sell H-art to the WPP Group, the world leader in marketing communications services. We launch a partnership with The Times of India newspaper, that marks our entry in the Indian market, and we open a new branch office in London. Our investment portfolio grows to 16 startups.
We become the leading private incubator in Italy and other initiatives arise, inspired by our model. More than 150 people work in our 25 startups. We receive thousands of applications for our call for ideas. Construction works begin in the Seed Village, our new space dedicated to startups, and we host the first Italian edition of the Startup Weekend.
Digital Accademia is born and soon becomes the reference point for the digital training of companies and individuals. We receive more than 500 entrepreneurial projects for our first Seed Program and choose the 10 best ones. 35 startups, 250 people. Construction works for a second headquarters begin.
We organize the first Global Accelerator Meeting (GAM), that becomes an annual event with the leading accelerators in the world. In the same year, Corrado Passera, Italy’s Minister of Economic Development, sets up a task force to discuss the "Decreto Sviluppo" decree and our founder Riccardo is selected as one of the members.
We launch H-CAMP, the most innovative all-inclusive acceleration program in Europe. We also start the H-ACK event format, a 24-hour marathon inspired by the hackathons, where young people coming from all over Italy work in teams to develop digital solutions for the companies that want to open up to innovation.
We organize the first edition of the Kinnernet Italy, an international, unique and exclusive event about innovation and technology. We switch from the accelerator model to the industry model, supporting companies in the implementation of digital processes, by accompanying them step by step in understanding the future scenarios and in adopting systems to be competitive in a rapidly changing market.
10 years have passed, quickly and full of events. Our business model is now defined: we invest in startups, we help companies implement new processes and we prepare the younger generations for the future of work. Our Campus grows to a 15,000-sqm area formed of other 4 farm estates. On November 13 we become a public company listed on the AIM Italia. We can hardly believe it.
It becomes clear that it is incredibly important to help the new generations understand today’s changes and prepare for the challenges and new (career) opportunities of tomorrow. As our Industry division grows, we are committed to deliver our education programs.
We sign an agreement for the development of H-CAMPUS, a 51-hectare area that will host our entire headquarters. We partner with the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice to start a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Management. We enter the share capital of Smau and land on the US market with TheCurrent, a new platform for the leading global fashion brands. We can hardly believe it, and the best is yet to come.

Born in Treviso, after graduating from high school, he took a psychology degree course. In 1990 he started working with his father, but his great passion was always the Internet, so halfway through 1995 he accepted the challenge to create a work crew whose purpose was to tell the story of the Benetton sports teams to the world. A few months later, the first Italian virtual mall (Mall Italy Lab) was born. In 1999 it was signed over to Infostrada and is still present in the commercial area of the Italian website Libero.it.
September 1998 marked a turning point: he left Verde Sport, together with the 8 people in his team, and founded E-TREE. With him, in just a few years E-TREE became the most important web agency in Italy. In 2001, when the company reached a turnover of 26 billion lire (more than 13 billion euros) and employed 160 people, it was sold to Etnoteam. In September 2003 he left E-TREE and spent almost a year looking after his garden, relaxing and thinking about new ideas.
In January 2005 he founded H-FARM, choosing the unique estate of Ca' Tron, in front of the Venice lagoon, as main headquarters. H-FARM was the first company in the world to establish a model that includes education, investment and consultancy services. Today it is an innovative company that supports the creation of new business models and the transformation and education of people and companies in a digital perspective. Located just outside Venice, it hosts more than 550 people and is worldwide considered as a one-of-a-kind entity. On November 13, 2015, it was listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Italia, with the goal of sharing its commitment in helping young people and Italian companies innovate.
In 2012 he was asked by the Italian Minister of Economic Development Corrado Passera to guide the task force of experts that had the goal of improving the Italian framework for startups and promoting the development of new businesses. In 2012 Italia Startup was created: an association aimed at establishing a solid and competitive Italian startup ecosystem, of which he was President until June 2015.
In September 2016 he was appointed as legal representative of the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research within the board of directors of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice Foundation. Since 2017, he has also been an Associate of Ateneo Veneto.
Graduated as ship captain, after becoming vice champion of offshore powerboat racing he started his entrepreneurial carrier at the Rossi Group, his family business mainly involved in the luxury and newspaper publishing sectors. In the early '90s, he founded a division of the Group focused on action-sport apparel & equipment and he was in charge of developing the international business through new partnerships as well as licenses of some of the most established brands and companies, such as NoFear, Rusty, Spy Optics.
Between 2002 and 2004, the acquisition of the Group's footwear branch by LVMH, as well as of the main publishing arm, produced a major way out of the family from their business. He then spent one year expanding Yachtworld.com, the leading yachting marketplace in the Mediterranean area. In 2005 he co-founded H-FARM together with his partner Riccardo, in order to pioneer the startup industry over Italy and Europe.
He is also an executive member of the Vatican Art and Technology Council, chaired by Arianna Huffington and formed of selected senior technologists and art experts from all over the world, and a member of the Kellogg Innovation Network.
After graduating from Bocconi University in Milan, he spent over 17 years (from 1990 to 2007) in a variety of leadership roles at JPMorgan London. These roles included EMEA Head of Equity Derivative Origination, Head of Equity Capital Market and Head of Alternative Fund Coverage. He was also a member of JPMorgan’s European Investment Banking and Equity Management Team, as well as a member of the Global Equity Derivatives Management Team. Continuing to work in the capital market industry, in 2007 he joined Mediobanca to set up the Mediobanca UK Capital Market platform as Head of the London Office. Already CEO of the Mediobanca Securities division, he managed and coordinated the launch of the Mediobanca Alternative Asset Management platform. In 2012 he got close to H-FARM and became a board member.
After graduating in Economy at the LIUC University in Castellanza (VA), she obtained a Master’s Degree in Small and Medium Enterprises at the Bocconi University. Her strong passion for innovation and the digital world brought her to start her career in leading companies of the digital sector. Being Vice President of the Value Team-Business Unit IT Consulting for 7 years, she dealt with analysis, business plan evaluations and development of digital and e-commerce strategies in order to redesign new business models for industries such as fashion, retail, telecommunications. In 2008 she decided to start a new professional path and founded Nuvò, that grew to 70 employees in just a few years and became one of the most interesting Italian innovation companies. In 2015 H-FARM acquired 100% of Nuvò and since then she has led our Industry division.
Born in the US, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s Degree from McGill University. He is an entrepreneur and Marketing Executive with more than 20 years of experience working with leading International companies and innovative startups. He also represents and co-manages the yearly Global Accelerator Meeting. In addition to his ongoing venture activities, he is also the co-founder and President of Vinitaly Wine Club, Europe’s leading online Italian wine shop, General Partner at Expand Partners, strategic consulting firm and Board member of Seattle based Zooppa.com, the leading creative platform for the production of video and graphic content.
He is the former Dean of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, which owes him the internationalization and innovation process of the last 6 years. His re-organization of the university resulted in an extensive development and enhancement of the university campus. He has over 30 years of experience in the education field and belongs to the most important advisory boards worldwide (Harvard, Columbia, Munich, Sidney and also Eni, Generali, Mercator, Fondo di Investimento Italiano). He is a research fellow of CEPR in London and CEPS in Brussels and has a major role in several international organizations (World Bank, OECD, UNEP, etc), thanks to his research on climate change economics. He wrote more than 30 books and 200 articles, published in top international journals. He became a Nobel laureate in 2007 for his role within the IPCC (Lead author, Vice Chair of WG III and member of the Bureau of IPCC) and has an extensive managerial experience.
Born in Taranto in 1976, he has always worked in the field of innovation, technology and digital communication. After graduating from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice with a Degree in Business Administration, he became Head of the strategic unit of E-TREE, where he met Riccardo Donadon. He was one of the founder of H-FARM, where he focused on the development of H-ART. Under his leadership, H-ART became one of the most important digital agencies in Italy, reaching a turnover of 201 million euros in 2016, with over 200 employees, 4 headquarters and 11 consecutive years of revenue growth. In April 2017 he left H-ART and was appointed CEO of our Education division, with the goal of running it and raising it to the level of the most advanced education organizations in the world.
He has more than 20 years of experience in building technology companies both in Europe and in the US. He was a partner at Balderton Capital, one of the largest European venture funds, where he invested in European and US companies such as Wooga, SaatchiArt (acquired by DemandMadia), Mixtent (acquired by Facebook), Blingnation, Banjo, Friendly (acquired by Facebook), Vivino, Lifecake (acquired by Canon), Depop, Tictail and Adludio. Before joining Balderton, he was an active advisor to several venture backed companies including Jaiku (acquired by Google). His technology roots are based on strong operational experience matured in senior management positions in Silicon Valley with Topica, Fabrik Communications (acquired by Critical Path) and Information Access Company (acquired by Thomson Corporation) and in Europe with private equity backed Netscalibur and Viatel.
After graduating from Bocconi University in 1998, he worked in IT and Management consulting at ValuePartners Group, managing various technological innovation projects for top Italian companies in the Customer Operations and Marketing&Sales fields. In 2008, he contributed to the foundation of Nuvò, focused on the design and creation of innovative business solutions through digital tools; it was here that he deepened his knowledge of themes such as Customer Experience Management and Digital Transformation in complex contexts. He joined H-FARM in 2015, following the acquisition of Nuvò, and since 2017 has led the Business Transformation business unit.
A native of Treviso and a graduate in Economics from CUOA, he fell in love with the web and in 2000 decided to make it his career thanks to an article in Science magazine about the internet revolution. He began his professional career in the IT field, first at Veniceplaza and then in Epiclink (a full internet service provider). In 2004, he moved on to consulting (ValuePartner Group), specializing in the definition of IT strategies, business process reengineering and the design of web-based applied solutions. In 2007, he became senior manager of H-ART, providing internet solutions, with a particular focus on social networks and e-commerce. Founder of GliAffidabili.it, a marketplace of P2P services, and Nuvò, a digital innovation consultancy company, since 2012 he acted as CEO of NeoSeo, an agency specialized in digital marketing. Since 2016, he leads the Digital Marketing business unit.
After graduating in Economics and Business studies from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, he obtained a Master’s degree in Innovation Management from the University of Sant’Anna, Pisa, after which he started his career in large, multinational consultancy companies, followed by a few years at Benetton Group, focusing on organizational change. Spending the next 10 years in Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, he managed to consolidate and create a solid approach focused on projects specifically regarding large organizational change. In 2006, he left consultancy behind and focused solely on innovation: founding a startup. The fertile ground of our ecosystem has allowed him to launch several other initiatives that are today collectively known as the Human Innovation Culture, our business unit dedicated to digital culture and its impact on organizations.
Born in 1974, he has worked in communications and new media since 1995. Between 1998 and 2003, first as a designer, then as a web project manager, he joined the team at Giacometti Associati, the branding agency that created the corporate identity of Benetton and Aprilia. During the "New Economy" era, he worked on positioning strategies and identity in e-commerce projects for Arthur Andersen and Deloitte Consulting, experimenting with the first online editorial projects for web radio and web TV, integrating research of the integration between content and emerging technologies. A specialist in branding and new forms of entertainment, he joined H-FARM in its earliest phase and in 2007 founded Shado, a company specialized in the production of original content and interactive editorial platforms for which he is CEO, responsible for the Branding and Storytelling business unit.
After graduating in Economics and Business at the University of Bologna in 1986, in 2001 he became a member of the Treviso Accountants Department and has been enrolled in the Register of Auditors since 2002 with a specialization in finance and corporate finance. In 2008 he became H-FARM's CFO.
He has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. After graduating from the Bocconi University in Milan, he worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and then in London in a variety of leadership roles at JPMorgan. Continuing to work in the capital market industry, in 2007 he joined iShares (now part of Blackrock) as EMEA Head of the Sales Team, contributing to the success of the Exchange Traded Funds business in Europe. He joined Mediobanca in 2010 to set up the the Investor Marketing Team and then became Head of the Equity Solutions Group.
After graduating in Chemistry, followed by a Master's degree in Business & Management, she decided to focus her professional career in the area of finance, gaining different experiences in multinational companies in various difference sectors (fashion, publishing, pharmaceuticals). She has worked in H-FARM since 2009 and throughout the years has followed all of the developmental phases of the project while being based in the finance office, handling the evolution and definition of various processes.
A graduate of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, with a strong interest for all that concerns processes, numbers, organization and teams, Stefano started his career in Benetton Group. During his 8 years within the HR & Organization Department, he was involved in several organization and development projects. From 2000, he was part of the management team that transformed Geox into a successful multinational company and covered the role of Group VP of HR and Organization, dealing with international business development projects, retail teams, supply chain and production plant organization. During his 15 years at Geox, he developed his IT and digital skills. After 2 years spent at Fashion Box (Replay Jeans Brand) as Head of Resources and Project Organization, he joined H-FARM in 2017.
A graduate in Economics and Finance from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice in 2010, since 2013 he has managed with passion and meticulous attention to detail the requalification and growth of our physical spaces. He is always searching to find solutions to any sort of problem with expertise and positivity. Today, he is in charge of the Infrastructure & Logistics area and coordinates the activities related to the development and growth of H-CAMPUS.
Born in Treviso in 1978, she has had the good fortune of being able to learn on the job. After graduating from a Classical high school, in 1998 she began to work for E-TREE, nicknamed "the no-sleeping company", which in just a few, short years became the most important web agency in Italy. At E-TREE, she developed a passion for communications, covering the role of communications and PR manager until 2004. She joined H-FARM in 2005 and today, along with a team of 13 people, manages the press office, social media and event planning department, working hard in making our innovation platform known on an international level.
